It is easy to loose hope. It is easy to to quit working hard. But what pleasure do we attain when we do things that are easy? The challange in life lies in tracking those problems encountered EVERY DAY.
The true power that lies within each mortal (Human being) sees light in pain and agony, in crisis and distress, in lonelyness and restlessness.
Nobody discovers anything marvellous lying on the couch or the Bed. IT'S HARD WORK THAT MATTERS IN THE END. PATIENCE AND PERSEVERANCE ARE THE GREATEST VIRTUES OF SUCCESS.
Recollect the movements of your education, career where you had enjoyed those joyous movements of winning a competition or a Project - I bet you felt your ADRENALIN pumping fast and being on cloud NINE. Did that come to you easily ? Nothing comes easily.
GET UP AND GET INTO THE MAZE OF PROBLEMS TO COME OUT WITH A SOLUTION FOR EACH ONE OF THEM AT A TIME.
EINSTEIN was some one like us. GANDHI was also one mortal (Human being) like us. IT IS THE SPIRIT OF GOODNESS AND HARDWORK THAT DIFFERENTIATES A MORTAL FROM A "MAHATMA", EVERY DAY FROM BEING "THAT DAY". MAKE EVERY MOVEMENT, A MOVEMENT TO BE CHERISHED FOR HAVING LIVED THROUGH.

Dear all:
May I ask what I should do in the following situation?
I hold F1 visa and my new job starts on Sept 1. The int'l student office of my current university mistakenly set my OPT start date on May 6. My OPT has been approved and EAD card arrived.
That is, I will have 120-plus "unemployment" days accumulated by early August, which will then violate the "90-day unemployment rule" of OPT.
I am under tremendous pressure and really want to hear your opinions.

I joined my present company in June 2004 on CPT, missed the summer graduation so applied for the spring graduation. Got my MS diploma in Dec 2004 (non thesis). Went on H1 in Oct 2004. Applied for GC in Feb 06 as EB2 and I got it without any issues. I know another friend of mine who joined with me in June 2004. He actually took classes later to finish his MS and finally graduated in December 2005 and he too got his Eb2 approved. The GC is for future job and not the current one so according to me it should be fine.

Is there any solution going to come to help peoples here for 9 � 10years paying taxes, contributing to social security, Medicare, having clean records etc, and stuck on numerical limits and VISA numbers availability.
Being in this situation is not because of not started process timely, where as this is caused by the way processing tied up with employer to get GC. And as soon as changed employer the whole process reset. Sometimes employee has to take decisions in the best interest of employers, where as one has to pay price like sitting in the GC Queue again and which was also not bad till the retrogress hit hard.
There also best possibilities that people stuck in queue and waiting for GC are highly skilled, financially healthy, and capable to invest but surely not doing so in the anxiety
Even in the current economic situations most of them also lost their big chunk of money from 401k, IRA and other investment which is going to take years to recover.

So that means in my case, if some company agrees to file H1 for me, i will not be counted towards quota. Please let me know if my understanding is correct?
In the mean time my company's immigration department is also checking about this. will update whenever i get any response.

Dear Immigration lawyer and fellow Ivians,
I received GC with my wife and one minor son. Other minor son's status did not change. Today I am seeing following hard LUD on my son's I-485.
Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS
Current Status: This case has been sent for a standard interview.
On August 21, 2008, we transferred this case to our NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER location to conduct the interview that is a standard part of processing this I485 APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS. You will be sent a notice when the interview is scheduled, or if the office needs something from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service.
Do I need to worry? Normally for employment based adjustment of status, interview is not required. Could this be USCIS error? Do I need to do anything?

Are you married to a USC? If so, you have nothing to worry about. Do not travel until your GC is approved as AP is not 100% safe for people that overstayed.

Guys,
If you are accessing that from work then probably you are prohibited to see that (Through proxy and/or firewall and/or websense). I can not see that either through IE or firefox from work and could see it well from home through both browsers.
